Keto Meatball dish with fresh mozzarella

Keto and LCHF pasta meatballs recipe:

This is beef meatballs with fresh mozzarella cheese inside in tomato sauce and squash spaghetti on side.

These mozzarella-filled meatballs or just meatballs filled with cheese we are very excited about at home and the kids love them, especially with the lovely fresh mozzarella inside, instead of a dry meatball.

Keto Zucchini Spaghetti Recipe with Meatballs

We often make meatballs of different kinds, but these mozzarella-filled meatballs are always at the top of the hit list.


600 g minced beef
1 tablespoons oregano
1 tablespoons basil
1 tablespoons Thyme
1 egg
1 cup grated parmesan
1 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoons freshly ground pepper
200 g fresh mozzarella
butter and olive oil for frying


Use the same pan with butter and olive oil from the meatballs
2 garlic finely chopped
2 spring onions or 1 plain finely chopped
3 cup tomato sauce – buy to your liking
2 cup heavy cream
salt and freshly ground pepper – remember to taste


1 cup grated mozzarella
1 cup grated parmesan
1 large squash / Zucchini for “spaghetti”
slightly fresh basil leaves

Preheated oven

15 minutes at 180 degrees


  1. Mix the meat with eggs and spices.
  2. Form meatballs of the mince and put a small piece of mozzarella into each.

Brown the meatballs on the pan in plenty of butter / olive oil, so that they get a little frying crust, but without frying them completely.

  1. Set the meatballs aside for a moment.
  2. Saute onion and garlic in the rest of the fat from the meatballs along with tomato sauce and heavy cream.
  3. Remember to season with salt and pepper
  4. Place the meatballs in an ovenproof dish and pour the tomato sauce over
  5. Spread the mozzarella and grated parmesan over
  6. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for approx. 15 minutes or until the cheese is golden.

Serve with squash / Zucchini spaghetti – Squash in thin strips, made with either spiralizer or carrot peels.

Is there a difference between squash and spaghetti squash?
Squash pasta is a healthy alternative to normal pasta, and gives points on the profit account. It’s an easy way to get more vegetables into your diet
